Lil' Whiskey

Description:

The Lil' Whiskey by 65 Amps is the second collaboration between two long time peers and friends - 65 Amps' Dan Boul and LA tone guru Dave Friedman. Going for the throttled up sound of "The Strip" in Los Angeles in a small format this time, Dan and Dave were again able to find that unique sound in a format that is useable in a modern context.

In addition to very authentic and rich distortion, the clean sound on The Lil' Whiskey is loud and proud. The clean channel is completely outside of the Master Volume circuit so the normal compromise of a mediocre clean sound in a high-gain amp is gone. One can actually play louder clean than dirty on this amp if desired, but with the Lil' Whiskey it's the chimey textured British cleans of EL84's. The Lil' Whiskey gives all the classic sounds that we associate with hot-rodded British amps without going into Ubergain. Exciting, responsive and always musical; the Lil' Whiskey encourages you to have fun and take chances!

The Lil' Whiskey is the first 65amp utilizing an advanced hybrid circuit board build that takes the amp to zero floor noise and 100% consistency and reliability. After many attempts at advanced circuit board designs, Dan and Dave along with space industry engineers have found a formula that actually out performs handwired construction.

The Lil' Whiskey runs its pair of EL84's with a 3 x 12AX7 preamp. With a distinct throttled up voice of crucial British tones and behaviors, the Lil' Whiskey can meet an astonishing amount of needs in one box! Enjoy! Introduced in 2015.
